Home to the Masai Mara and the Great Migration, Kenya is one of Africa’s best safari destinations. Kenyan safaris were also the inspiration behind Walt Disney’s 1994 blockbuster, “The Lion King”, so we hope you’re ready for a few childhood flashbacks.
Taking our knowledge from more than 10 years travelling, volunteering and living in East Africa, Adventure Out Loud has hand-crafted this adventure to ensure you get to explore Africa’s most exciting safari destinations, make a positive difference in the world and rejuvenate your mind, body and soul through yoga and meditation with our team of incredible and experienced yoga instructors.
We are a social enterprise. This means we place the same emphasis on doing the right thing and making a positive impact in the communities we travel to, as we do on making a profit. To prove it, we’ve graphed how your fee will be spent during this adventure.
We are proud to report that 54% of your fee will be spent in Tanzania, stimulating local business, creating local jobs and supporting local communities. Another 5%, the same percentage as our profit, is invested back into local initiatives and grass-roots charities.

Adventure Out Loud to meet you at the airport and transfer you to our hotel where you can spend the day relaxing or you can jump straight in to the action with a rejuvenating yoga session and a walk through Karura Forest in the search for the elusive monkeys.
After morning yoga, we head toward the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage and the Nairobi Giraffe Centre. This is your chance to get up-close-and-personal with these incredible animals. If you’re lucky you might even get a kiss from Ed the giraffe.
After lunch, be inspired by Tommy Nyawir and the heart-warming Mirror of Hope, a community based organisation empowering vulnerable children living in Africa’s largest slum by keeping them in school.
Morning yoga followed by an action packed day of fun, laughter and dancing with our sponsor students at the Mirror of Hope led by Adventure Out Loud’s dancing KaJoni, a talented musician and teacher making a difference in Africa through music.
Today Tam, Nalini or Gena will lead us in a mindful meditation in preparation for a day exploring the sights and sounds of Africa’s largest slum. Visit the home of your sponsor student, meet their family and feast on a delicious Kenyan lunch that you’ll learn to cook.
Hello Masai Mara! One of Africa’s best safari destinations, the Mara is home to Africa’s most exotic safari animals. It is also home to the greatest show on earth – the Great Migration – a natural spectacle like no other.
After your first exciting safari drive, we head towards our secluded wildlife camp – arriving in time for a warm shower and relaxing evening around the open fire.
Up early, we begin our search for Africa’s greatest predators, who are also on the hunt for a nutritious wildebeest breakfast before they retire to the shelter of the trees for a cat-nap. You can also expect to see many of the other exotic African animals today and if you are lucky, you might even spot a rhino.
With so much morning excitement, your body will be craving a deep stretch, a little meditation and a thorough reconnection. If only we had a yoga instructor… hello Tam, Nalini & Gena!
Each year a million wildebeest brave the Mara River’s crocodile infested waters in their search for greener grass. This is the greatest natural spectacle on earth and although it is dependent on annual timing, this region offers fantastic wildlife viewing all-year-around. In the afternoon, we return for a yoga or meditation session and another relaxing evening swapping stories around the open fire.
Today we’re searching for the BIG 5 – lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino. While it is common to see some of these animals, finding all 5 can be a challenge so make sure you bring your binos and a keen pair of eyes. After lunch, Tam, Nalini or Gena will lead us in another yoga or meditation session before we enjoy our final night in the magical Masai Mara.
After a final morning game drive, we make our way back to the bright lights of Nairobi. This will be your final night in Africa and the perfect occasion to celebrate with new friends who have shared in this unforgettable, enriching and rejuvenating journey.
Spend the morning packing, relaxing or meditating with our private instructor or if you’re feeling adventurous, head out to explore Nairobi’s bustling CBD, visit Karura Forest or go shopping in one of the Nairobi’s many markets before boarding your flight back home. Arrive in Australian the next day.
Jomo Kenyatta International Airport
111 million African children didn’t go to school in 2017. We’re not ok with this and we’re doing something about it!
With 47% of Africa’s population living below the poverty line, sponsoring a disadvantaged child through school is one of the best ways to fight poverty. Education empowers children to change their circumstances while educated women have fewer babies, a significant problem in Africa where birth rates are double the world average.

Yes. Kenyans love visitors and most will go out of their way to make you feel welcome. It is extremely rare for anything bad to happen within Kenya’s national parks and we will not be travelling to the border regions where the Australian Government advises not to travel.
As with all travel, your biggest risk is being robbed or having a road accident. Travelling in a small group, avoiding popular tourist areas, travelling with reputable companies and having our experienced tour leaders and local team with you 24/7 significantly reduces these risks. See SmartTraveller or talk to our team for further travel advice.
“Every dollar was worth it. I could have done every single day two times over.”
“Going on a holiday that makes a difference is something truly special. To meet the young person that I sponsored, to visit their home, family and friends, and to create some amazing life long memories with them is just another level.”
“I was so amazed by how friendly the people were. Having Monk show us around his country was definitely a highlight and the temples were incredible.”
“AOL’s style of holiday is less about ticking off the bucket list, and more about immersion in a different culture – it left me with memories more poignant than any selfie-opportunity!”
